Sex Mannequin

Sex Mannequin is a sensual story directed by Maria Beatty for Bleu Productions and stars the ever so luscious London and Dylan Ryder. The story is a simple retelling of Pygmalion, with Dylan playing Pygmalion and London playing her love interest. Both of these women experience a lustful foray that leaves the viewer not only spellbound but also praying that it never ends.

For those not familiar with the story of Pygmalion, it was the tale of a Greek sculptor who made a statue of a woman and due to how realistic and flawless his work was he fell in love with it. Upon falling in love with the statue he prayed to Aphrodite, the goddess, to bring the statue to life; after some time prostrating at her temple during a local love ceremony Aphrodite granted his wish. The statue came to life and both were enamored with each other. It is a tale of an unreachable desire falling into the hands of the person who desires it, much like an apple falling from a tree. In the film, this plays out as the mannequin coming to life and becoming the perfect submissive.

My favorite part of this film was the overall feel of it. With its connection to the myth and how tenderly the characters touch each other Sex Mannequin has a very romantic feel about it. This feeling isn’t diminished even when a riding crop is used. The camera work only accentuates the feel of the film. It is as though there is no camera in the room, just two lovers. They act as though nothing in the world exists but themselves. The audience gets to see this very private and tender time close-up but without feeling like an intruder. During the third scene Dylan has an intense orgasm resulting in squirting; the camera angle affords a wonderful view without getting a single drop of liquid on the lens.

The setting lends itself perfectly for the film. The mannequin is found in an abandoned loft, which is in an old warehouse. This allows for the wide open spaces utilized in scenes one and three as well as what appears to be water pipes used in the second scene, used to tie up London. While the setting is somewhat gritty, it definitely doesn’t detract from the fantastical feel of the scenes between the two lovers.

If our films were graded, I would have to say Sex Mannequin is an A+.
